How It Felt to Find It
Zachary Rausnitz

the eventual Pacific,
saltwater injections,
a blank billboard,
sonogram in black and white,
how it felt to 1492,
mother in three dimensions,
unwound clock tower,
watery vowels,
nine months of ownership,
that line between staring and paralysis,
scraps of paper, scraps of water,
stars not just for decoration,
unspeckled continent,
the concentric bodies of a pregnancy,
scaffolding,
the entire Atlantic kept in millions of little plump syringes,
wedlock, dry land,
a college education & an empire.
