Goodbye, God
Gregory Sherl

Under the banner is a bigger banner. It reads WHEN I OPEN MY EYES I'M STILL DRUNK. The banner above: me losing my virginity in a thundercloud. At restaurants I don't use toothpicks. My goodbye is a hot mess, a flooded puddle. There is a line in this poem. It reads THIS POEM IS A PAINTING. I've seen all of your movies twice. I'm filming my own movie. In it I beat The Oregon Trail as a farmer from Illinois, so broke I'm out of the bar before last call. There is a theme in this poem. Finding it is like watching the sun leak from your face.
