The Body as Code for Clay
David Tomaloff

laughing like a hammer,1
or a chorus --

a semi-
efficient

call to the body2 in storage

when
nothing is
no longer that shade
of blue,3

will a hand reach to sound the alarm,
or will the days begin
to fester,4

or will soft birds
carry our hands
, momentarily remembering

what it is to revel en masse5
under the body of the sun
