The Knights of Columbus

Somehow it wasn't just us
but a palladium
of mothers
taking money
from the temporarily
deranged.

a room
sealed off
where the night went
iniquitous

the raccoon
slipped from the rigging
almost crushing the stone
rigor of Jesus.

Take your shoes with you
you're going
to need them.
